(500) Days of Spider-Man...

So Sony just confirmed that Marc Webb is going to be directing the new Spider-Man movie(s). If you haven't been paying attention, Sam Raimi (the director of the first 3) dropped out last week and as a result so did Tobey Mcguire, which is good but it sounds like they're going to do a whole new 'gritty reboot' so it looks like he's going to do another origins story though I think he should just do one after he already has his powers. I hope beyond hope that he can get his 500 Days stars Joesph Gordon Levitt and Zooey Deschanel to be the new Spidey and Mary Jane, though that would just be too good to be true. I think JGL would make a great Peter Parker.

In other news, Massachusetts, in all their infinite wisdom, elected a Republican to fill the vacant senate seat left behind by Sen Kennedy. Sad sad day. It looks like we no longer have the filibuster proof senate that President Obama pretty much needed to get anything done. The only positive I can see coming out of this is that (assuming Republicans don't kill it) Health Care Reform might actually get some much needed tort reform. Other than that, this doesn't look good.

And finally, my girl has put out another gem...

Go big.
