I love this state. I sincerely believe that it;s the greatest state in the country. If I could get a job here I would probably not be moving to NYC. I mean if I could get a job doing film....

That part I wrote a couple days before I left michigan but never got to finish the blog because immediately after i wrote that i went on my last michigan summer weekend bender. it ended up with me and a bunch of other people wasted at 5 in the morning and naked in the pool 3 nights in a row. good times. actually i was supposed to leave sunday but was too hungover/still drunk to drive so i ended up not leaving until monday.
Anyways, I thought I'd update you all on how the move is going. I got here Monday night. Unloaded my car on tuesday and then my storage unit yesterday and I'm still unpacking. I went to Ikea to pick up some stuff (my first time in the store and i must say it blew me away. I could have spent a week in there). I spent the last year with no more than 2 duffel bags worth of clothes and a few worldly possessions (basketball shoes, basketball, light saber, cd's, record collection, stero, hats and a puzzle). When I got back here and thought about my storage unit that was filled to the brim, I couldn't imagine what was in there as I had lived contently for a year with about 10 percent of my belongings.
I love my stuff and for those of you that have been into one of my apartments or know me very well or have lived with me, you know I'm a pack rat. I have t-shirts and nick-knacks from when I was 9. Literally. I can't find it in myself to throw anything away. Ever. I am convinced that if someone stole all the crap I just unloaded from my storage unit, I wouldn't be able to know exactly what went missing, just that something had. Which makes me wonder why I have all this crap. I am going to upload some before and after pictures of my room and it will become evident that I have way too many things, especially for living in NYC. I'm glad I'm realizing this now at 25 though and not 30 because I can't imagine the things I will accumulate over the next 5 years.
Anyways, I'll blog again as soon as I finally get everything put away. I hate moving so much it makes me want to explode my head against a rock. Go big or go home but don't bring anything home with you.

Paint the White House Black...
Just got this in an email from Lighter than Darker Than. It's pretty awesome but also pretty silly. The lyrics are weak but I like the sentiment. I'm sure there are actually some people that would listen to Ludacris over anyone else and if he tells them to vote they just might do it. Anyways you can read the lyrics here.

Almost Outta Here...
So I'm moving back to NYC this week. Actually this weekend. I'm pretty excited to finally get back to doing things. I've been sitting on my ass for a while essentially doing nothing productive, which is awesome but for some reason not as much fun as it should be. I'm hoping being a PA and finding work in nyc is just as easy as being one in LA, which wasn't hard at all. I am going to miss michigan again. As always. And I'm dreading the hot/humid/unbearableness that is august in the city. It's pretty much hell on earth.
Batman was sweet if you didn't see it (ignore this guy who is the only person who didn't think it was the best movie ever.) Everyone else in the world loved it. So much so that it pretty much broke every box office record. It made 158 million in the opening weekend, had the highest midnight opening ever (18 mill) the highest opening day, the highest sunday, the highest monday and tuesday and was the fastest ever to reach 200 million (5 days). It just show that if you take your time and do things well, people will reward you for it. It's one of the reasons I'm so excited for Iron Man II which won't be out for another three years even though the studio already set a release date for 2 years from now. Jon Favreau said he wouldn't rush it and said it would take 3 years to make a movie that was better than the first which is awesome.
In other news, I hate packing. I hate moving. I hate the whole process of it. I hate all the shit you have to do to get ready to move, I hate apartment hunting and I hate lifting shit up 3 flights of stairs because there's no elevators ever when I have to move. I am glad to be moving to a place where drinking is expensive. I have had entirely too much fun this spring/summer and a lot of it had to do with alcohol. It'll be nice to not be around a college atmosphere for a while. Don't get me wrong, I love everything about it. I love hanging out drinking without any cares but I can't hang with the kids anymore and my liver just slapped me.
I just realized this might be the worst blog I've ever written. I hadn't done it in a bit though and thought I should put something down. I have had a bunch of things to say but since I've been driving all over the place I have never had my computer with me when the thought hits and I don't want to blog on my iPhone becuase that would just be a little too much. Anyways, go big.

The Dark Knight...
Ahhhhhhhh!!!!! Finally!!!!!!!
I actually haven't even processed or come to terms with the fact that it's finally been released and I've finally seen it.
Right now Spider-Man III holds the record for biggest opening weekend at 151.6 million. That's kind of a lot. And kind of hard to top. Spider-Man III was ridiculous. Not in a good way. I enjoyed the movie, but it was silly. Summer fun. This morning I saw the Dark Knight. It might be one of my favorite movies ever. Obviously I say this a lot right after I see a movie. But do me a favor and go see it. This weekend. Today, tomorrow or Sunday. You need to see this. It's obvious you're going to see it. Just do it this weekend. I want this movie to break every record ever. I want it to break the 1.2 Billion that Titanic made worldwide and I want it to break the opening weekend record as well. It deserves it.
As far as the movie goes, I was blown away. I didn't even realize it until after I came out and relaxed that I was tense for the whole movie. On edge. Waiting to see what was going to happen to who. It was crazy. Batman Begins was one of my favorite movies so my hopes were as high if not higher than anyones. I have been waiting 3 years for this. And it was worth every second. Seriously. Heath Ledger will win the oscar. No question. Start placing bets in Vegas.
Anyways, go big and go to the movies. Now.

oh ps - bring your friends. bring as many people as you can. have a batman party. just go see it. if you don't like it, call me and I'll refund your money.

It's About Something...
I am a huge Seinfeld fan. I love the show. I think Jerry is hilarious. His stand up is great and if you haven't seen the documentary Comedian, you need to. It's awesome. But one thing I don't get is why people say that the show is about nothing. It's about something. It's not like it's about 4 people sitting around watching paint dry. It's got plots and story lines and recurring characters. It's just as much about 'nothing' as every other sitcom is. It's about 4 friends. No one says that Friends is about nothing. Is that because there's 6 of them? It's basically the same premise. A group of friends hanging out and things that happen to them. Sounds the same to me.
Waiting for a table in a restaurant is a plot. It's not like nothing is happening. Things are happening. They are waiting, they are annoyed with the host, they have confrontations etc. People always point to this episode when they claim the show is about nothing but how can it be about nothing when it has a plot. All of the episodes have plots. Sometimes incredibly ridiculous ones like Kramer being wanted as a serial killer in LA. That's more of a plot and story line than most sitcoms have.
The only show about nothing that I can think of is 2 and a Half Men, but that's because it's the worst show in television history and nothing happens because no one laughs and from what I can tell it's about 2 terrible dudes and a fat kid who sit around wearing ridiculous looking clothes.
Anyways, that's all for now. Go big...

State of the Blog...
Obviously I have been awful at blogging these last few weeks. Aside from being somewhat busy boot scootin' around Michigan, I don't have a whole lot to say. Usually I try and write about something I've been thinking about or something that bothers me etc, but lately I just don't have an opinion on anything other than if I should get the usual Busch Light or splurge and treat myself to some Oberon. Seriously.
So in an effort to get myself to blog more I am going to blog about anything I can think of. Not just about thoughts I'm having but about consumer products, songs, other people not pertaining to me, etc. At least for the rest of the summer which for me is another few weeks.
I'm not sure if I've mentioned it on here lately but I am making my triumphant return back to NYC soon. I'm actually going out there next week to find a place (attention NY readers: help!!). So hopefully that goes smooth but judging by how difficult the most mundane things have been for me recently, I'm gonna assume it's gonna be hell. My ideal outcome would be to find an apartment my first day of looking and then come back home and enjoy a few golden weeks of the gloriousness that is summer in Michigan. But I know I'll spend a week toiling and end up living in some guys closet for $8 million a day.
Anyways, keep your ear to the grindstone. Go big and all the good stuff.

oh ps - lots of movies for me to review. if you've drifted away I think it's safe to add me back to your bookmarks and check back every few days.
