Stop whatever it is you are doing, change all your plans for tonight, and go see this movie. Simply put, it's the best movie I have seen in theatres in years. More to come later....

The Last Final Summer Ever...

It's funny how many 'last summers" we have. There's the summer after senior year of high-school when you think that you will never have a summer vacation again. Then the last summer vacation in college when you realize that every summer after you will have to take classes in order to graduate sometime this millennium. Then there is the summer after you graduate (my current status). This time it honestly may be my last summet to have a bullshit job (not that I don't love my job because I already know I will never work in a place where drinking is placed so high on the list of priorities, I mean we get free beer every friday and we get paid to drink it not to mention all the work parties, i mean - meetings.) Anyways, I'm hoping that this is my last summer ever. If it isn't, then it means I didn't get a job after film school which means I most likely am not good enough to be in the industry which means I would have to figure out what I'm going to do with my life. The good thing about not having a back-up plan in life is that I go where the road takes me, I have no idea what I'll be doing next year and it's very exciting. So what am I going to do with my last summer of freedom? Good question....

Well I have been hanging out outside as much as possible. I have switched from working inside the office to working the grounds at our various apartment communities (needless to say I am, as my mom would say, much too dark for anyone to marry). I decided that plans need to be made. The reason I never end up doing anything during the summer is because I never make the plans, I always just assume that if something comes along I will do it but nothing ever just comes along therefore I never do anything. Here are the things I want/need to do this summer, if you would like to participate in any of the activities let me know. Go to the Zoo, go camping, go wakeboarding, take a small road trip (not counting when I drive to NYC in august), have at least 6 bonfires, roll down an enormous hill, go fly fishing up north, do something outside I've never done before, go hang-gliding, go to Cedar Point, have a very large bbq (that would require many of you to come hang out) on a lake somewhere... Anyways these are just some things that I can think of off the top of my head so help me think of some more.

Anyways I guess I'm not feeling as pensive as I thought I was so I'm gonna go. As always, get your feet off the ground and reach for the stars, Go Big or Go Home. Carpe diem bitches...

Top 5 Sibling Teams...

I'm not quite sure what got me thinking about this topic but I thought it might make a good blog to go through and establish the top 5 sibling teams. For example Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are a sibling team. It is not however limited to actors, Tiki and Ronde Barber, for example - both professional football players (on different teams). Obviously these two sibling teams didn't make the cut. It is also not limited to same sex siblings but it could be brother sister or even several siblings. And without further explanation, the list:

Coming in at #5 is:

The Wayans family. I believe there are about 8 billion brothers and one sister. Highlights include, "Don't be a Menace to South Central While Sipping Your Juice in the Hood," "Blankman," "White Chicks," and that show on the WB. Though their terrible movies outweigh their good movies, the good ones are absolutely hilarious.

Coming in at #4 is:

Annie and Howard Lederer are two of the best poker players in the world, or at least on TV. They aren't ridiculously annoying and they always rule. It's impossible enough to be good at a game like poker, where the swings are insane, but to have siblings who are this good is like having two professional athletes as siblings.

Coming in at #3 is:

David and Patricia Arquette. Patricia, solely because she played my favortie female character in any movie ever in, "True Romance." The movie is one of the greatest movies of all time and she is a huge reason why. David is probably one of the most under-rated dudes ever. He is hilarious and, though his movies aren't the best, he always cracks my shit up.

At #2 is:

River and Joaquin Phoenix. Two badass brothers. River, though he died at only 23, was in two of the best movies ever: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and The Explorers. He was one incredibly cool dude. Joaquin is one of my favorite actors and if you saw him in Walk the Line, there is no way he should not have won the Oscar. Ever since I saw him in Inventing the Abbotts, I have loved him.

And the #1 best sibling team ever, by a mile, is:

Andrew, Owen and Luke Wilson are the greatest brothers ever. I can't even count the number of moments my life is better because of these three. Andrew is clearly the lesser known of the three but has been in almost all of their movies. Luke has the best volume of work outside the Wes Anderson movies, however, Owen is my hero. Anything I ever say that people laugh at is owed to him and Will Smith. All he has to do is show up and I start laughing.

Anyways this took a lot longer than I thought it would and it didn't even end up being that cool so I am just gonna stop wasting everyone's time. If you feel that there were others I left out please let me know. Obviously, only famous siblings were eligible to win otherise my brother and I would have won without a contest. As always, get your feet off the ground and reach for the stars. Go big or go home. Carpe diem bitches.

oh ps - The NBA finals start today and though I am nowhere near being close to getting over the Pistons I think I am going to sit down and watch it. I may be heartbroken but I still love basketball....

A New Beginning...

First of all, even though I don't want to, I reckon I ought to at least mention the Pistons. Disgrace is about the only thing I can think of. The worst case scenario ending to a magical run over the last 4 years. Not sure what is going to happen this off-season or who will be back but whatever happens we better come back with some hunger and heart.

On to better topics. I am currently blogging on my brand new, super fast, wildly amazing, still getting used to - Macbook. This computer is fantastic. I am still getting used to many things that are different after a lifetime of PCs. For example the mouse only has one button, so how do I 'right click.' I don't know how to copy and paste, I think you have to use smart keys for those things, there is a lot more double-clicking on here, not to mention that instead of saving things to the desktop you can just drag them there. I believe you could do this as well on a PC but I don't remember ever really using the feature. This computer can also run windows though I have no reason to. As long as OS-X doesn't suck donkey balls like Windows did then I am ok. My old laptop was a POS, whereas this laptop is perfect. I remember when I was in 7th grade this kid made some speech for something or another about Macs and all I remember is the last line, "Welcome to my life; Welcom to Macintosh." I suppose they used to be much inferior, hence the sadness and resignation in his voice while ending his speech. Anyways I really needed it because my old comp was so bad and it always turned off on my anytime I tried to do anything and it got to a point the other day where I tried to check the weather and it shut off twice. I also got this because Macs are the bomb diggity when it comes to things like making movies and music which is what I'll be doing for the rest of my life (hopefully).

Some other things that are different is that there is no start menu, there is instead a bar at the bottom with all the programs one would use on a normal basis and they only take aboiut 2 seconds to load. Even after you close a program it is still open until you go up to the top and go to file, quit. Anyways everything we had to learn in Computer class in 6th grade is slowly comin back to me. I also like that the Mac sound is still the same when you turn your computer on that it was 15 years ago.

I guess that's all for now. I'll let you all know how my life with a Mac is going and what my summer plans are and whatnot very soon. I just wanted to try typing with this to get a feel for the keyboard and I like it for the mostpart but sometimes I think you really gotta push the keys down or it doesn't register. As always, get your feet off the ground and keep reaching for the stars. Go big or go home. Carpe diem bitches.

Oh ps - if you know how to cut and paste on a mac please tell me. Nevermind, while trying to find out how to change the font size I figured out how to cut and paste, however, if you know how to change the font please tell me.
